Information about Børresen skole in English
This is a school with a long history behind its walls, it is mainly composed of several buildings which functioned as an orphanage until 1958 when it was decided to use it as a school.

The school has been rehabilitated and there has been built a new classroom building, a big and comfortable library and a modern arts and crafts department to enhance and support our students' creativity.
With 25% of our pupils coming from different countries, we look forward to having a multicultural development in our teaching, and focusing on the language department with English, French, Deutch, Spanish, and paying much attention to Norwegian both reading and writing. Living today in a digital and technological society we are ahead in using projectors, sound quality and digital screens/blackboards in each of the classrooms, as well as providing each student with his/her own pc for use in the different subjects and tasks at school, to improve the teaching methods and learning process of our teachers and students as well. The school location is so close to Drammen city center, that the personell and pupils have the opportunity to walk to Drammen`s Library, the most modern and updated public library in the whole country, and at the same time can be in touch with the cultural center of the city which is Union Scene close to the library.Besides having the school gym, the school has a sand (beach) volleyball court for use both during school and freetime during the Summer and Autumn. With no need for the young girls and boys to go out to buy food, we have our own cafeteria to avoid any accident or hard time with them going too far away during the freetime, as well as having special personell to help the students with their lessons after school time between 14:05 and 15:05 every day.
