Physiotherapy
Description
Physiotherapy can be given to prevent and to treat an illness or injury. The physiotherapist is either a municipal employee or engaged by the municipality. You may receive treatment in a group or individually. This is part of the municipal multidisciplinary habilitation and rehabilitation service and is also offered to nursing homes.
Criteria/conditions
The municipal physiotherapy service or your doctor will undertake a survey and professional assessment of your needs.
Price
Social services covers expenses related to the examination and treatment by a physiotherapist in whole or in part (but only where the physioherapist has an agreement with the municipality). The patient pays a basic charge where the diagnosis does not entitle the patient to free treatment. Treatment and transport to the place of treatment is free for children under the age of 12.

You may receive this service regardless of whether you reside at home or in an institution. If you live at home and are not able to visit a centre for physiotherapy, you can receive an offer of treatment at home.
Possibilities to appeal; procedure
If you feel that you have not received the necessary assistance or are not satisfied with the manner in which it was carried out, you may send a complaint to the municipality or directly to the responsible service provider. Explain why you are dissatisfied and which changes you would like to be made.
