Termination of pregnancy - prior to twelfth week
Description
The Act concerning termination of pregnancy provides entitles you to demand an abortion within twelve weeks of pregnancy (84 days). An application must to be made though a doctor who will then refer you to a hospital where the procedure will be carried out. The doctor will provide you with information on how the procedure is carried out and any possible complications that may arise. You do not have to state a reason for your decision, and you may choose whether you wish to receive advice and counselling.
The doctor will also give you information regarding support you may receive from the authorities and others should you require this.
Criteria/conditions
The woman takes the final decision, providing the procedure can be carried out within the first twleve weeks of pregnancy, and providing that there are no strong medical arguments against this.
